Major accomplishments this past year include: A successful application to the Korea Foundation for a $58,800 grant to support the hiring of a full-time Korean language lecturer in the Department of Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies. The new Korean lecturer position will be instrumental in helping to meet vibrant student demand for Korean language and culture classes. Membership in the American Institute for Indian Studies New academic partnerships with Tohoku University (Japan) and Korea University (South Korea). Hosting its first-ever interdisciplinary workshop for early-career scholars,“Mobilities, Itineraries, Circulations: Rethinking Asian Connections.” Co-sponsoring the 2023-2024 Delta Visiting Chair for Global Understanding: Hua Hsu.
