Are you passionate about global affairs and interested in engaging with dedicated individuals from around the country and the world? Apply to be a delegate at the 2024 Duke-UNC China Leadership Summit (CLS) on March 23-24, 2024! Co-hosted by Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, CLS is the South’s premier student academic conference on US-China relations, bringing together 100 of the most promising students and young professionals from across China and the U.S. who are interested in deepening their understanding of China and creating a more productive relationship between the U.S. and China. We welcome all past delegates and newcomers to register to attend the 14th Annual Duke-UNC China Leadership Summit. This year, we will be in-person at Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina! In the past few years, we have witnessed the US-China relationship take a dramatic turn for the worse: escalating geopolitical tension in the South China Sea, breakdown of diplomatic ties, and a rise in cultural protectionism. Above all, we find that the narrative has become increasingly myopic, projecting a future premised on mutually exclusive principles: China or the US, war or peace, autocracy or democracy. The US-China bilateral relationship will not only influence the life of Chinese and American people but also the trajectory of international politics. As such, CLS seeks to diversify the perspectives and solutions presented through our 2024 conference theme of Beyond Binary: Reimagining US-China Narratives. All majors are welcome. To apply, simply register at the Google forms link below or visit our website at www.dukeunccls.com. The deadline is March 9 at 11:59PM ET. Accepted applicants will receive more detailed information about the event venue, schedule, and speakers. https://forms.gle/mdKWvvu85e79GYBN7 Please direct any questions to dukeunccls@gmail.com.
